Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Para Athletics Championship 2025–26, jointly organized by the Para Sports Association of Odisha and the Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha, was successfully held from 6th to 8th February 2026 at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, and concluded on a grand note.
The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 400 para athletes representing all districts of Odisha. The athletes displayed exceptional determination, resilience, and sporting spirit throughout the three-day event.
The event was graced by the presence of Shri Amit Kumar Nayak, Deputy Secretary, Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha, as the Chief Guest, along with Shri Manoj Kumar Tripathy, Rotary President, as the Guest of Honour. Both dignitaries encouraged the athletes and lauded their inspiring performances.
Medal Tally Highlights
In the overall medal standings, Puri district emerged as the Champion, securing an impressive tally of 17 Gold, 7 Silver, and 7 Bronze medals. Khurda district finished as the Runners-up with 11 Gold, 13 Silver, and 7 Bronze medals.
The championship highlighted the growing strength of para athletics in Odisha and the state’s commitment to inclusive sports development.
Athletes who delivered outstanding performances during the championship will be selected to represent Odisha in the upcoming 24th National Para Athletics Championship 2025–26.
At the conclusion of the event, the President, Shri Kamalakanta Rath, and Secretary, Shri Sunil Pradhan, of the Para Sports Association of Odisha, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all para athletes, technical officials, volunteers, and parents for their cooperation and invaluable contribution toward the successful conduct of the championship.
