Odisha Para Shuttlers Shine at 1st ABIA Para Badminton International 2025 in Nigeria

Odisha’s Para Badminton players have once again brought glory to the nation by delivering outstanding performances at the 1st ABIA Para Badminton International 2025, held in Nigeria. The Indian contingent, led by Odisha’s ace para shuttlers, showcased remarkable skill and determination, earning multiple medals across various categories.

Pramod Bhagat (SL-3)

  • Gold – Men’s Singles (SL-3)
  • Gold – Men’s Doubles (SL3-SL4)
  • Gold – Mixed Doubles (SL3-SU5)

Nurul Hossain Khan (WH-2)

  • Silver – Men’s Singles (WH-2)
  • Gold – Men’s Doubles (WH1-WH2)

Kuldeep Mahakul (SL-4)

  • Bronze – Men’s Singles (SL-4)

Biswas Ranjan Panda (SU-5)

  • Bronze – Men’s Doubles (SU-5)

Pramod Bhagat (SL-3)

  • Gold – Men’s Singles (SL-3) - Pramod won finals by defeating Mantu Kumar of India with a scoreline of (21-7,9-21,21-9)
  • Gold – Men’s Doubles (SL3-SL4) - Won Finals by defeating Nigerian Pair C.Nnanna and O.Nwosu (21-13,21-18)
  • Gold – Mixed Doubles (SL3-SU5) - Won Finals by defeating the Peruvian Pair G.Vargas Lostaunau and D Rojas Golac (21-13,21-17)

Nurul Hossain Khan (WH-2)

  • Silver – Men’s Singles (WH-2) - Won Semi Finals 22-20,23-21 Against Nigeria. Lost in finals with a scoreline of Final - 21-17,21-14. Against Egypt.
  • Gold – Men’s Doubles (WH1-WH2) - Double - Won Finals by defeating Egypt Pair by (21-19,22-20). Semifinals won against Cameroon & Kango (21-18,21-14)

Kuldeep Mahakul (SL-4)

  • Bronze – Men’s Singles (SL-4) - LOST IN S/F BY 08-21 & 16-21 with C.Nnanna of Nigeria

Biswas Ranjan Panda (SU-5)

  • Bronze – Men’s Doubles (SU-5) - LOST IN S/F BY 09-21 & 15-21 against Indian Pair
