The excitement is building in Bhubaneswar as the ITTF-ATTU 28th Asian Table Tennis Team
Championships countdown officially began on October 6, 2025, with a grand ceremony at the Kalinga Stadium Indoor Athletic Centre. This marks a historic first for the state, which is hosting its premier continental table tennis championship.
Trophy Unveiling Ignites the Spirit
The event was graced by Suryabanshi Suraj, the Hon’ble Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, who unveiled the glittering Championships Trophy. This momentous occasion, hosted by the Odisha State Table Tennis Association (OSTTA), showcased the state's readiness to deliver a world-class sporting spectacle.
Key dignitaries, including Commissioner-cum-Secretary Sachin Ramachandran Jadav and Director Dr. Yeddula Vijay from the Sports & Youth Services Department, were present to lend their support.
Olly Hits the Road to Spread the Buzz
Following the unveiling, the Minister flagged off a specially designed publicity vehicle, featuring a playing table and young paddlers, set to tour Bhubaneswar and surrounding areas. Fans can look forward to the official Trophy Tour, where the championship’s charismatic mascot, 'Olly', will visit major cities like Puri, Cuttack, and Bhubaneswar, engaging fans and building anticipation.

Countdown to the Championships
The competition is just around the corner, with the tournament scheduled to kick off on October 11, and the medal-deciding finals slated for October 15.
