Sudipta Nanda is at her core a passionate philanthropist and an internationally acclaimed Taekwondo referee and coach, she’s a holder of the 4th Dan black belt and hones over 2 decades of experience in her field. She started off at a tender age and used her mental solid perseverance to her advantage, over the years she has won several tournaments on both the state and national level post which she became a full-time Taekwondo coach/Instructor giving rise to several exceptional players.
She is the founder of SN Taekwondo academy with over 500 students in both Cuttack and Bhubaneshwar. She was the first woman referee from the state to have attended the international referee seminar in Mumbai. Being one of the sole women to have thrived in this field at her time and seeing the social injustice that women faced on the day to day basis in not only her surroundings but the country as a whole led to a spark that burnt a fire of feminism in her soul, giving her a new purpose.
She believes more than anything in the right to defend one’s self and that every girl and woman in the world should have the skills to be able to stand up for herself. To shed light on this issue she not only regularly writes columns on social causes, the importance of self-defense, and woman-related issues but has also taken matters into her own hands and has led and conducted several workshops, sessions, and classes where she teaches self-defense to women, not only that she also regularly does the same for underprivileged women and girls as an attempt to empower and encourage them to always have the power to defend themselves against any unfortunate situations.
She strives to solve the issues of step at a time and truly believes in the fact one must be the change they want to see in this world.
